CLOSED MARCH 16 THROUGH MARCH 27
DCS Student Council will be continuing with their blood drive on Wednesday, March 25, at DCS. We understand if you would no longer like to donate, but if you are healthy, we are urging donors to come forward so people in our hospitals will have the blood they need for the sudden surgeries, car accidents, open heart surgeries, etc. that will still be going on during this crisis. If healthy people stop giving blood, the crisis we are in now will only become worse. Please prayerfully consider continuing to donate or signing up to donate on the 25th. Sign up using this link or contact Savannah Feenstra at firstname.lastname@example.org
Upcoming postponements and cancellations:
March 24 - Society Meeting
March 31 - Prairie Readers canceled

A few other changes:
DC's Got Talent has been postponed with a reschedule date TBD.
Science Fair - the judging of projects is postponed and the evening event has been canceled.
All-State Band has been canceled.
Geography Bee has been canceled.
Governor Noem has again instructed that schools remain closed for the upcoming week, March 23-27. DCS will continue to follow this recommendation from the state government.
The staff at DCS has been diligently working on a distance learning plan so that we can continue your child's education. Much of the information has already been sent out, but we will continue to communicate with you about what to expect, where to get work from, and other such matters. I've attached the expectations document again for your convenience. Please do not hesitate to ask questions!
The lobby at DC is set up with packets for younger students to take home and work on. These packets have instructions in them, but be sure you contact your teacher via Zoom, phone call, or text if you need anything. Older students need to grab their books and instruments to take home; we have provided a checklist for this.
Friday, March 20, 8:30 AM - 3 PM: School will be open for book or packet pick up.
Monday, March 23, 7:30 AM - 3 PM: School will be open for book or packet pick up.
Monday, March 23: First official day of distance learning.
If any of those times do not work for you, contact either Mr. Boer or Shauna to set up an alternate time for pick-up.
Please remember to check your email often! These informative emails are lengthy and do not work well via call or text. We will continue to send out messages reminding you to check your email when something important has been sent to you.
If you haven't already, now might be a great time to check out Right Now Media as an additional resource for you as a parent. Everyone should have been invited to join. If you weren't, contact me and I'll send an invite to you.
Finally, I want to encourage you to read Psalm 18. David wrote it, and he had many instances of his life being drastically changed very quickly. But David knew who held his life, the One is who is all-powerful and controls our world. We can rest in that same knowledge during our own period of life-changing events, whether they be personal, national, or worldwide.
